Real Talk w/CJ Speakers Series

Project Summary

Real Talk is a speaker series featuring professionals in various fields of the criminal justice system. The speakers, frequently SHSU alumni, talk about their career choice, provide information on activities involved in their job, and offer tips on the application and interviewing process. Real Talk is held at least four times a semester in the CJ Courtroom and live at www.cjcenter.org/live. The presentation is streamed live to a classroom at The Woodland Center and is available to all students who tune into the web site. The Real Talks will also be available on video, and professors frequently give extra credit for viewing presentation, helping to link academics to the real world.

Among Real Talk speakers were:

Photofax John Todaro 9-17-13
Houston Police Dept Gangs Unit Eric Vento 11-23-13
U.S. Postal Inspector Stephaine Harden 11-14-13
Louisiana Attorney and Former JAG Tom McCormick 2-10-14
